So as to protect a post, that might have been inspired from another website, from being flagged, there should be an option to add a citation to ones already exciting post..

You could have the option to create a post with multiple opinions for people to choose from, instead of just YYA and NW.

Such as "Your favorite skittle color is... 1) red, 2) green, 3) orange, 4) purple, amirite?"

Opinions change. Times change. So why can't posts be redone after a certain time to get a fresh set of opinions?

I know you can get notifications if someone comments on your favorite posts, but i dont want a notification for every single post i favorite. Maybe you could just "follow" a certain posts, such as one about a topic that interests you like abortion or politics or something, and get a notification when a comment is posted.
This would probably be more useful on a lesser-known post where comments are really that frequent.

Instead of having it as simple as either receive a notification/email or don't for when your comment gets loved, perhaps you could be notified every time your comment gets 5/10/15 loves? That way you can see if your comment is doing well without being cluttered with notification. This could maybe also apply to your post being favorited.

For people who don't "love" the post, but think that is deserves a little more than a "yeah you are!"

Basically, a thing on your profile that states "... has agreed on 75% of all posts" or something along those lines.

Like AlJazeera.net, where they get to submit a video of themselves and talk about their own opinions. It'd be pretty cool, and a new, fresh idea for this site. From my knowledge, not a lot of sites have this feature. And when someone posts their opinion, it'll be on a much more deeper, personal level; since you are expressing your thoughts in a more realistic view.

Say if a user has quite a lot of posts and likes a handful (more then three) of them quite a lot, they could favourite all the ones they particularly liked and then when someone was viewing their posts they could select an option to have that users favourites appear before all the others

I noticed that the posts that get homepaged remain in the "just in" section. I think the "just in" section would be less cluttered if the homepaged posts were removed from the "just in" section. There could also be an option where we can see the posts that are the closest to being homepaged (similar to the "Show Me Posts Made..." function in the "best of" section).

This would help people who are unsure of what pronouns to use when talking aboot a user in third person.

Our attention spans don't need to be any shorter. Text posts require more focus to read. And more literacy is never a bad thing.

A lot of the best posts are the ones that not everyone agrees on. Controversy makes the best discussion. We had this page on the old site, but I guess it didn't make the leap.

It would be like how many followers you get except for instead of for following it would be for how many people message you. It would help people mingle or something. There could be one for 1(called "lose your wall virginity" of course)/10/50/100 messages from other users, or something like that.

as in, when one makes a post, either make suggestions on which group to put it in, or automatically put it in the most relevant group. this way, all the posts will be correctly classified, and no posts end up in the wrong group.

Like we have achievements for being on during the holidays, we could have one for being on during the 'last day of the world'. Since most people, regardless of whether or not they believe that the world will end, make a big fuss about 12/21/12, we might as well have an achievement commemorating it.
